Poor Bridger

Since we are working so hard on this house, trying to get it finished, Bridger gets to entertain himself a lot. One of his favorite things is picnic time with dad.  I try to bring a treat for us to share for dessert.  Last week i brought a carton of ice cream, and we couldn't eat it all......so i put it out in the show to keep it cool.  Then I went about doing my work....when i glanced over the balcony, this is what i saw.....

When we started to build this house I told Bart that I wanted to learn how to tile.  So he is teaching me lots of stuff.  This is the shower surround we installed together.  I am the tile cutter.....and Bart is the tile layer....and then somehow I got to be the tile grouter ( not a glamorous job).   I have never been less cute in my whole entire life.  I am always wearing grout stained pants, no hair done, and my nails look like junk.  I am learning how to do it all though....and that's been interesting!

House Update

I will start off with a confession.....I don't love building houses as much anymore.  I have no more pretty fingernails....and most of the time I run around in grout stained jeans with no make-up on and no hair-do.

But we are getting closer to being done....which is exciting!

Andes mint cupcakes

Here is a successful try at Andes Mint cupcakes that I saw on Pinterest from a blog called yourcupofcake.com.   They were totally delicious....and way more successful than my headband trick.

Pinterest.....The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly!

Sooooo one of my friends posted a link on pinterest about a way to do your hair and make it all curly.  It looked totally cool so i decided to try it.  The lady on the video took an elastic headband and put it on her head....then wound her hair around the elastic headband and slept with it around her head.  So I tried it.....except i couldn't find an elastic headband like the one she had....we only had the kind that have a lil rubber hair gripper like this.

My Husband thought I was a big nerd.....and I guess I was....cause in the morning I woke up with a huge headache.  I took the rubber band off to reveal my fabulously curled hair.  I took a closer look in the mirror and noticed I had a red line on my forhead.  The red line didnt go away....for days....it's still not gone.  I think I had an allergice reaction to the hair gripper elasticy stuff.  So today I had to go to church with it on my forhead.  When i saw my friend Halsey and told her what happened.....she laughed and laughed and laughed.  Then she said it was so nerdy i had to blog about it.  So enjoy my pain!  

This is 3 days later....it is a raised bumpy welt.  Foxy, eh?  Yeaaaaaah.  So the moral of the story is.....Just cause you see it on pinterest.....doesnt mean you should try it.

This is Halloween Part 2.....the Costumes!

My mom, dad, and sister came to visit me .....Mostly to see the kids in the Primary Program....but they also got to spend Halloween with us.  I told my sister to bring a costume because there was a carnival we had to attend.  I said, "what is your costume?"  She said, "My old Stand-by, a pirate."  I said, "I am going to be a pirate too, and so are Bridger and Wyatt."  We had not even described our costumes to each other....and this is what we ended up with!

I love Halloween!

We are a wacky bunch at the May house!  We grew 12 pumpkins in our garden so we had a lot of pumpkins to carve.  Here are a few pictures of the fun.
